In reference to this article, feelings of boredom can be uncomfortable, but it’s how you & your child manage these times that will dictate the outcome. Parents often try to come to a child’s rescue when they are bored. Try to resist these urges and let them have the space and time to come up with their own creative activities.
These feelings of boredom may be greater during this period of home schooling. It’s a good idea to set-up device free times during the day; see what ideas get sparked. Children will become very resourceful when they are bored. Try to take notice of their interests and reinforce their creativity. If you positively reinforce these interests, they will begin to develop more of their own internal motivation.
In the long run, you will be assisting them to find their own interests, building confidence within their skills and finding their own joy.
